TX-15 - Electric STEM Kit - Earthquake Alarm

Earthquake Alarm (TX-15) ⭐⭐⭐ · ~25 min

⚡ Principle This kit uses a "closed circuit" principle. When a vibration (like an earthquake) occurs, the hanging copper wire swings and hits the metal ring. This completes the circuit, instantly triggering the buzzer and the light.

🔩 Parts

  • Buzzer ×1 + LED Diode ×1

  • Sheep eye nail (metal ring) ×1

  • Glass bead (weight) ×1

  • Copper wire ×1

  • Knife-style battery box ×1

  • Four-hole connector wires

  • Wooden boards + foam glue

📋 Steps

  1. Connect the LED (Long pin to green wire, short pin to blue). Connect the buzzer (Red to positive, black to negative). Connect the battery holder and the copper wire.

  2. Assemble the wooden bracket, install the eye nail and connect the black wire. Thread the copper wire through the glass bead.

  3. Use the foam glue to secure the battery holder, then assemble the final bottom base.

⚡ Fun Fact! Real seismographs are so sensitive they can detect a heavy truck driving blocks away or even waves crashing on a distant shore!

💚 Tip The key to a good alarm is centering the wire: it should hang right in the middle of the ring without touching it. The smaller the gap, the more sensitive your alarm!
